Fat can be obtained by liposuctioning the stomach, hips and other areas. The combination of liposuction and fat injections is often called liposculpting. As not all of the injected fat will survive, sometimes a series of injections is required to obtain the desired result.

Dr. Samimi has used fat injections for over 10 years in different areas of the body. The procedure may be performed under local anesthesia in the office.

Buttock augmentation is usually performed as an outpatient procedure in office under local anesthesia or at an accredited surgical facility with the patient under general anesthesia. Dr. Samimi will use liposuction to remove fat from the desired areas of the body and close the incisions. The removed fat will be processed, purified, and prepared for injection into the buttocks to evenly add shape and volume. You are then placed in a compression garment and wear it for about 6 weeks.

You should rest as much as possible after your buttock augmentation, while keeping pressure off your buttocks area by laying on your stomach or side. You may need about 2-3 days of rest before returning to work. Normal activities and a pillow should be placed

under the buttocks whenever you are sitting. To maintain your results, it is important to maintain a healthy, stable weight since the fat added to the buttocks can become larger or smaller with significant weight fluctuations.
